As a broker we always call the number for the carrier whose trying to book a load with us on the fmcsa website and ask for the dispatcher.
Red Flags are
No one answers
They don’t have a dispatcher by that name
They don’t have trucks in that area.
Even if a carrier is validated in the many online platforms.
No matter how legit everything looks from a carrier packet standpoint
Calling the carriers listed phone number on the FMCSAs website and verifying the communicator is step one in protecting yourself from fraud.
