โšฝ HQ's First Ever Live Q&A โ€” Recording Now in the Classroom!
Last night we held the very first Football Fuel HQ Live Q&A and honestly โ€” what a great chat. For anyone who missed it, the recording is now up in the Classroom under Workshops & Expert Sessions. Go check it out. ๐Ÿ‘† Here's a taste of what we covered: ๐ŸŽ Fuelling on the go We talked about some of the best quick-grab options for busy match days and training runs โ€” apple puree pouches, fruit pouches, flavoured milk. Simple, practical, and the kids actually eat them. Sometimes the best fuel is the stuff that's easy to consume while they're still running around. ๐Ÿงค Goalkeepers and energy demands This one surprised a few people. Goalkeepers often burn more energy in training than on match day โ€” so their fuelling actually needs to flip. More fuel going into training sessions, not just game day. ๐Ÿฅช School lunch boxes One of my favourite topics. The best thing you can do is give your footballer some ownership over their lunch box. Let them help make it โ€” even just one or two days a week. When kids choose their own food they're far more likely to actually eat it. They take pride in it. And that means they're actually fuelled for the afternoon session. These Q&As are running every month and they're completely free as part of being in this community. Next one is coming โ€” drop any questions you want me to cover below so I can make sure we get to them. โฌ‡๏ธ

โšฝ Something that came up in todayโ€™s presentationโ€ฆ
I was talking to a group of female footballers about iron, fatigue and energy levels. When I mentioned that coffee and tea can reduce iron absorption, there were quite a few surprised faces ๐Ÿ˜ณ One player said sheโ€™d been taking her iron tablet every morning with her coffee. The problem? Coffee and tea contain compounds that can significantly reduce how much iron your body absorbs. So if you or your child is taking an iron supplement, try to: โœ… Have it away from coffee, calcium (milk) and tea โœ… Take it with a source of vitamin C (fruit, juice, berries, citrus etc.) Itโ€™s one of those small details that can make a big difference. Out of curiosityโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ Had anyone ever told you this before?
