Panaculty- A northeast staple dish
Panaculty (also spelt like Panackelty) originates from the working class families of the miners and ship yard workers. Originally used with left overs from a roast. To save money and waste. During the war it was seen as a survival dish as food was limited. Each mining town in the north east had the own little twist on the recipe. In Northumberland they call it Pan Haggerty by adding cheese. Others add veg into it and some even add sausage. The version I grew up with originated from Sunderland/Durham. I grew up in South Shields. Which consists of POTATOES, ONIONS, BACON, CORNED BEEF AND GRAVY. in the video you’ll see I’m using turkey bacon because of my pork allergy. So no pork bacon for me 😩. So I hope you give it ago. And enjoy it as much as I do. 🥰

Eating Frogs
Hi everyone, a while ago Mark asked a question about what would we like to change about ourselves or something along those lines. Mine was the same as Marks which was procrastinating too much. Not long after that Mark recommended a book called Eat That Frog, which I bought and I’ve found to be very interesting as well as useful, still haven’t finished the book 😳, but was immediately inspired by it. This evening I looked in the Classroom on here and reread the lesson, “Beat Procrastination in 5 Minutes”. That lesson ended with a final sentence saying to share your achievement on here so that’s what I’m doing. Basically the book tells you to look at things you’re putting off, procrastinating about as frogs and to eat the ugliest frogs first, after doing that all the other frogs will be easier to deal with (eat). So after 6 months of procrastination I’ve been ripping out the 18 year old fencing and halfway through putting up replacement fencing, I can see the end is now in sight 😃. Here’s my book which I think is an older copy because the cover picture is different to the one Mark posted. Anyway thanks Mark for the book recommendation and the lesson, both very useful and I’m eating at least one frog a day 😂.

The 'C' Word
My apologies in advance for mentioning the 'C' word but... ... what is your favourite Christmas film? My recommendation is 'A Wonderful Life' as @Risa Payne @Paige W have not ever seen it.

A brand NEW section launched today
We have a new section based on recommendations. Why? Because recommending something is a way of paying it forward. A gift 💝 This could be a book, a travel destination, a movie, restaurant, Album, new music artist, community members service or product, recipe or anything that YOU think could be useful or helpful to your fellow members. PLEASE LIMIT YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS TO ONE PER DAY. Imagine if we had a flood of recommendations by excited members every day, it would difficult to see them all and they would not always be seen. I hope you all enjoy this new feature.
