Eating Frogs
Hi everyone, a while ago Mark asked a question about what would we like to change about ourselves or something along those lines. Mine was the same as Marks which was procrastinating too much. Not long after that Mark recommended a book called Eat That Frog, which I bought and I’ve found to be very interesting as well as useful, still haven’t finished the book 😳, but was immediately inspired by it. This evening I looked in the Classroom on here and reread the lesson, ā€œBeat Procrastination in 5 Minutesā€. That lesson ended with a final sentence saying to share your achievement on here so that’s what I’m doing. Basically the book tells you to look at things you’re putting off, procrastinating about as frogs and to eat the ugliest frogs first, after doing that all the other frogs will be easier to deal with (eat). So after 6 months of procrastination I’ve been ripping out the 18 year old fencing and halfway through putting up replacement fencing, I can see the end is now in sight 😃. Here’s my book which I think is an older copy because the cover picture is different to the one Mark posted. Anyway thanks Mark for the book recommendation and the lesson, both very useful and I’m eating at least one frog a day šŸ˜‚.

Life’s future!
I encourage for us all to live in the present, but that shouldn’t take away your dreams. My question is how would you like to see your life in 5 years time? How would you love to see yourself living your life?

@Amanda Green we spent about 4 months or more a year living in a Showmans wagon (not allowed to call it a caravan), I prefer it to living in a house. We are now using it as a glamping venue and doing up a horse box to travel in. I can certainly understand why your mam would enjoy it.

@Risa Payne first we want to do a slow tour of the UK in our horse box over the next 3 or 4 years with the odd holiday abroad but I’d love to see more of Thailand and Asia and from there anywhere in the world. Once we’ve done the UK we want to travel through Europe, the Balkans and then Turkey where we also have a base.
Happy Holidays and…
A very happy Birthday (soon) to one of our founder members and good friend of FidgeyCares @Tanya Denver Enjoy Ibiza Tan. We expect photos

A brand NEW section launched today
We have a new section based on recommendations. Why? Because recommending something is a way of paying it forward. A gift šŸ’ This could be a book, a travel destination, a movie, restaurant, Album, new music artist, community members service or product, recipe or anything that YOU think could be useful or helpful to your fellow members. PLEASE LIMIT YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS TO ONE PER DAY. Imagine if we had a flood of recommendations by excited members every day, it would difficult to see them all and they would not always be seen. I hope you all enjoy this new feature.

Great idea, it’s often a problem sorting out recommendations that are genuine from those that have an ulterior motive or incentive.
Spoons
I don’t know if any of you have heard about this concept before but it helps us balance and understand our energy levels. We all start the day with 10 spoons, some tasks may take more than one spoon, and there’s things to earn spoons back. here’s an example. Get up and dressed 2 spoons - 8 left Have breakfast 1 spoon - 7 left Go to work 3 spoons - 4 left Make tea 2 spoons - 2 spoons left Read a book +1 spoon - 3 spoons left Sort out things ready for tomorrow’s day at work 2 spoons- 1 spoon left. Take a bath and go to bed + 4 spoons - 5 spoons left. I hope that all makes sense, you have to understand what actions drain your energy levels and how to recharge šŸ˜ā€¦.. this method also helps one of my friends who has AUHD and Bipolar x

Great idea šŸ‘. You mentioned being overwhelmed in your comment. The book Eat The Frog that Mark recommended would help with dealing with that feeling also. So now I’m counting spoons and eating frogs since joining this group šŸ˜‚.
