Sunday classes are now in the classroom folder.
Today's class was loaded with anatomical terms and muscles but I eventually got my head around the interconnectedness of it all. We focused on a muscle called Lateral Pterygoid which is attached to tmj & the sphenoid bone, maxilla and the mandible - the sinus plate, face plate and the jaw bone. The pterygoid moves the jaw forward, back and side to side. When this muscle holds tension it can cause tmj issues, sinus issues and headaches. For the size of the muscle, being quite small, it can cause a lot of pain when it holds tension & can restrict nasal channels also.
I hope you find relief from today's class. Please work at your own pace and take your time with some of these poses. Some people may find relief instantly and others need to work regularly at these poses to help relieve tension. But the muscles in the face are short muscles so face yoga techniques can work relatively quickly. Let me know how you get on
Happy practicing
