I read online the other day that women suffer more mentally with clutter around the house than men do. My husband is always saying how I throw everything out. I don’t think I do, but I usually have this “rule” that if you don’t use something within a year, you most likely don’t need it. Anyway, the last two years, I’ve felt very overwhelmed with the amount of “stuff” we have. I’m part of the problem too. I probably contribute a lot to it. But, lately everywhere I look, there is something. Knickknacks, plants, collectables, kids stuff, stones, movies, just so much! I’ve done a decent job at thinning out my plants since Christmas. And I’ve done good with not replacing them with other plants. But the other day, I read this declutter prompt, and it said: “If you can part with 5 things everyday for 1 month. You’ll notice a significant difference at the months end.” So needless to say, after all my rambling I started this today. I picked a section in my bedroom and parted with 10 items. Tomorrow, I will do the same and try to keep it going for the month. Maybe I can manage to sneak out some of my kids “stuff” without them even noticing. Hah! 😅 Maybe someone else could benefit with a little spring cleaning prompt. 5 things everyday/31 days!
