shipping costs
I’m trying to understand Amazon FBM shipping costs and wondering if I may need to adjust my shipping template.
I recently shipped a 7 oz item in a bubble mailer to a nearby state for about $5, which seemed reasonable. The next day, I sold the exact same 7 oz item, also shipped in a bubble mailer, to a state only one state farther away, but the shipping cost was around $9. What confuses me even more is that I’ve previously shipped a 2 lb item in a box to one of the farthest states for about $10.
Why would a lightweight 7 oz package in a bubble mailer going to a relatively close state cost almost the same as shipping a 2 lb package in a box across the country?
Could this be related to:
- my shipping template settings,
- delivery promises/transit times,
- carrier selection,
- or something else?
