Help spread the word, earn a little pocket change :)
One thing you may not realize about this community is that when you invite someone to join, and they buy one of our qualifying courses, you can earn a little commission. For every few folks that register for a course, that could cover the cost of a new paddle for you, maybe a hotel night at an away festival, or some DB swag! EVEN IF you never buy a course yourself. Why are we doing this? Because we want to build this into a real community hub for the sport. Unlike Facebook groups full of spam and nonsense, this is designed to be a space where folks can genuinely connect, share tips and insights, and grow in the sportโ€”without judgment or drama. So how do you invite people and get credit for it? On desktop, go to the little button on the right that says "SETTINGS" - click on it and a window will pop up showing you your unique invitation link. Copy that link, then share it with your club, crew, friends, etc. On mobile, click the 3 dots in the top right of your screen, click on "Invite People" then copy the link there. You can also visit our Facebook Page and share any of the posts there, like this one about the upcoming Summit, to your timeline. I'd love to have 100 people at the Summit and 1000 people in here by the end of the summer. And i'd really appreciate your help getting the word out!!! Thank you in advance!!

Homework: Handling hiccups on the race course
1๏ธโƒฃ How would you handle someone drifting into your lane during a race? 2๏ธโƒฃ What would you do if your dragon head falls off before the race vs during the race? 3๏ธโƒฃ Imagine you have right of way on a 2K turn but the boat next to you refuses to give way. What would you do? #level2

@Joann Fegley and I are so excited to bring you this mini-summit on June 28. Here's the schedule (all times given are Eastern/New York time, and all sessions are 50 minutes long): 10:30am - Welcome + Kickoff We'll go over the day's events, the bonuses we're offering live attendees, and do a little DB networking. 11am - Steering: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You Why take a certification course when you can go to a weekend clinic or your coach can teach you? Because it doesn't adequately prepare you for having 22 lives in your hands, that's why. Plus new regulations are coming down the pike, so you need to be ready. 12 noon - Level Up: From Club Paddler to National Team What does it take to make an elite team? In this session you'll learn about off-water training, camps + clinics to get on your radar, how to filter the good info from the bad, how to be adaptable, and how to get ready for team tryouts. Megan Roberts, former Team USA paddler and 3-time Team USA Premier Women's coach, will join us for this discussion. 1pm - Mobility for Dragon Boat Athletes The incredible @Anne Baker will get our bodies moving and lead us through some mobility work and give us tips on how to incorporate this into our training regimens for continued success. [Learn about Anne and her work here.] 2pm - Coaching Basics for New Coaches Many clubs start because someone got bitten by the bug at a charity festival, but then struggle with how and what to teach. Others are growing rapidly and need to get coaches trained up fast. In this session we'll get you started on the right foot and give you a plan for action. 3pm - The Recruiting Playbook Getting new folks to join can be harrrrd. But the Schuylkill Dragons in Philly created a killer mechanism and Joann, longtime club head coach, will share the playbook. 4pm - The Art of Video Review Video review is one of the fastest ways to help paddlers improve their technique. As a coach, what you can see from the side is enlightening, and unlike anything you can see from the back (if you coach from the steering platform) or the front (if you coach from the drum seat). In this session we'll break down everything from how to capture video to how to structure a review session.
