Got Your Summit Access Pass Yet?
Help spread the word, earn a little pocket change :)
One thing you may not realize about this community is that when you invite someone to join, and they buy one of our qualifying courses, you can earn a little commission. For every few folks that register for a course, that could cover the cost of a new paddle for you, maybe a hotel night at an away festival, or some DB swag! EVEN IF you never buy a course yourself. Why are we doing this? Because we want to build this into a real community hub for the sport. Unlike Facebook groups full of spam and nonsense, this is designed to be a space where folks can genuinely connect, share tips and insights, and grow in the sportβ€”without judgment or drama. So how do you invite people and get credit for it? On desktop, go to the little button on the right that says "SETTINGS" - click on it and a window will pop up showing you your unique invitation link. Copy that link, then share it with your club, crew, friends, etc. On mobile, click the 3 dots in the top right of your screen, click on "Invite People" then copy the link there. You can also visit our Facebook Page and share any of the posts there, like this one about the upcoming Summit, to your timeline. I'd love to have 100 people at the Summit and 1000 people in here by the end of the summer. And i'd really appreciate your help getting the word out!!! Thank you in advance!!

@Lora Dunnigan thanks! That's a tough one for us, as I'm on the water with my crews. Any other nights/days that could work for you?
Megan Roberts, 3-time Team USA Coach, will be at the summit!
Excited to share that joining us for the Level Up discussion at the Summit on 6/28, will be Megan Roberts - decorated athlete in multiple paddling disciplines and 3-time Team USA Premier Women's coach. If you haven't grabbed your ticket and added this session to your calendar, now would be a good time to do that :)

Homework: Race communication strategy
1️⃣ How would you approach giving commands during a race? Would you share responsibility with your drummer? What do you think would work best for you? 2️⃣ What have you observed from other steers that you would like to try or avoid? #level2

@Lesley Blyth interesting approach. I've NEVER been quiet as a steer in a race 🀣 There are so many different protocols - it's great to see how everyone does it.

@Lora Dunnigan it really depends on how you/your team work: ie whether you are steer and coach, or if these are two separate roles. Also you may find that newer paddlers need to hear more, to keep them focused, encouraged, and motivated to keep going - especially as the race distances increase.
