Slow Down First
Today's quote from the book:
“But when you practice emotional control, you slow down, assess the situation, and respond from a place of strength and purpose.”
Doing What You Know, Chapter 8, p. 145
Most mistakes don’t happen because people don’t know better.
They happen because people move too fast.
Too quick to react.
Too quick to speak.
Too quick to decide.
There’s no space.
And without space, there’s no control.
That’s why slowing down matters.
Not to hesitate.
To think.
To assess what’s really happening instead of what it feels like in the moment.
Because when you slow down, you create options.
And when you have options, you can choose the right response.
Not the automatic one.
