Today's quote from the book:
“You can be the author of them.”
Doing What You Know, Chapter 8, p. 145
Most people talk like their emotions are in charge.
They say they were angry, so they reacted.
They say they were afraid, so they stopped.
They say they were overwhelmed, so they shut down.
That mindset gives away too much power.
Your emotions are real, but they are not supposed to run your life.
You are not stuck with every reaction you’ve trained into yourself.
You can slow down.
You can interrupt the pattern.
You can choose something different.
That is where real change starts.
Not when life gets easier.
When you stop handing control to whatever you feel in the moment.
You can be the author, not the victim, of how you respond.
