When I started working out in September this year, I didn’t see immediate results. Training after training, I felt the same - weak, non-athletic, with low endurance. It was pretty demotivating.
But then, suddenly, there was kind of a breakthrough. One day, I noticed that my endurance had increased significantly. I also did a 1RM assessment and found out that my strength had improved as well.
Sport is no different from other areas of life. You put in consistent effort, but the results aren’t linear. It’s more like accumulating effort until a breakthrough happens. That’s why discipline is required to push through periods when there are no visible results yet. That is the hardest part.
But I know that if I stay consistent, results will come, without a doubt. Sooner or later. Just not immediately.
