Memoirs of a Trespasser by Imaginary Authors - review
My initial post is below:
I saw several comparisons of this to By the Fireplace and I sorta get it but I also think this fragrance has a much woodsier, resinous aspect to it. it's got the warm smoke but it presents itself in a darker wilder way and the vanilla comes out slowly throughout the wear and eventually overpowers the resin, but until then it's a very natural sappy sweetness. That being said, it's oaky, softened with a gorgeous bourbon (maybe it isn't, but that's how it smells to me) vanilla. I mentioned in my initial thoughts that I get a “gentleman’s club” vibe, such as at a Country Club, of sitting in a room with a smokey air that isn’t pungent like cigarettes, but something from a pipe but mixed with something natural and as mentioned above, boozy. It's both grounding, and exciting. This truly is something special that teeters between something familiar, yet has a unique (at least to me) presence that keeps you hooked and compulsively sniffing it.
