Mood & Seasonal Change
“Following an anti-inflammatory diet can help counteract the chronic inflammation that is a root cause of many serious diseases, including those that become more frequent as people age.” ~Andrew Weil
As promised, this month we’re discussing how to optimize your overall health while taking advantage of the warmer months. As I mentioned on Monday, our bodies and moods are directly related to seasonal changes. Learning what to focus on with each season will help you become the best version of yourself all year ‘round! 🙌
We mentioned the importance of consuming anti-inflammatory foods yesterday, but do you know why?
Well, I’m glad you asked. 😉
Inflammation is often exacerbated during the summertime because of the warmer weather. In short, heat can increase inflammation. 🔥
The best way to fight inflammation is through your diet, which is exactly why we focus on eating mostly whole-food nutrition in our program. It’s best to follow a minimally processed diet. Foods like refined sugar, sugary beverages, and processed meats can drastically increase inflammation. On the other hand, summer foods like strawberries and tomatoes that are high in antioxidants can mitigate inflammation. 💯
🤩 Fun Fact: Water based fruits like watermelon and cantaloupe will also help you get your water intake with all the minerals & vitamins!
TAKING ACTION:
✅ Come back tomorrow to learn more about what affects inflammation during warmer weather and how to combat it!
