Honeymoon Phase is ending soon...
TAKING ACTION:
✅ TAKE ACTION today, friends! As you’ll read below, the honeymoon phase is coming to an end. It’s time to lean into discipline and crush our New Year’s goals! 💥
As you learned last week, the first two weeks of the new year are considered the “honeymoon phase”-- the honeymoon phase typically lasts between January 1st and around January 14th. Today is January 12th, so you know what that means—it’s time to get your mindset in the right place and push through the finale of the honeymoon phase.
While there’s nothing marginal that happens overnight between December 31st and January 1st, the truth is that there really is more motivation for some people at the beginning of the new year. In fact, many people experience a noticeable dopamine boost at the start of a new year when they commit to goals like healthy eating, weight loss, exercise, or other self-improvement habits. This isn’t my opinion. This is known because of well-established neuroscience and behavioral psychology research. So while it isn’t a magic bullet, the reality is that the new year does offer us a great time to get started; however, as the dopamine of the “new” wears off, you can’t give up. You have to keep going and lean into discipline in the coming days and weeks. 💯
Since we’re between weeks two and three of the new year, it’s time to focus on what actions to take now. It’s time to unpack the strategies that will help us push through the honeymoon phase. If you want to continue reaching your goals, it’s important that you continue to show up, friends! 💯
