Introducing myself
Hello. I'm Saundra and new to the group. I'm 71 and have been retired since 2018.
Welcome from Dr. Ed
Hello everyone and welcome to our FREE community where we help you navigate Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and much more! Most of your questions are answered in our classroom! I've added dozens of videos there that answer the frequently asked questions and I'm adding more all the time. We are going to add a lot of very useful tools, resources, and courses over the next few months to make sure you and your family get the money and help you earned and need! Please help those around you by inviting them to our group!
Got some questions though I don't know how many could be answered here.
Started recieving SSDI as a survivor recently and it's so small I still get a portion of my former SSI and have a ton of questions, including about the "medicare number" on the bottom of my benefits statement. And I mean quite a many.

Title: SSDI Appeals Council — Already Represented by an Attorney
Title: SSDI Appeals Council — Already Represented by an Attorney Hello, I’m currently appealing an SSDI denial to the Appeals Council and I already have an attorney representing me. I joined this group because I’m looking for additional guidance and a better understanding of the Appeals Council process. I believe there are significant issues with how the ALJ evaluated some of my medical evidence, functional limitations, and vocational expert testimony. Does your team review Appeals Council cases when someone is already represented? If you identify issues or additional arguments, are you willing to work with or communicate with the claimant’s existing attorney? I’m not looking to replace my attorney. I’m looking for additional guidance that may help strengthen my appeal. Thank you.

Delayed benefits when filing this year.
My FRA will be 10/31/2026. I will retire on 11/02/2026. I want to start my SSA and Medicare Part B benefits as of 12/2026. 1. What is the earliest date I can file for both? 2. Do I need to declare a VRDC? 3. Am I correct in thinking that my first check will come in the 4th week of 01/2027? Thank you.
