Ratio Order
When I'm feeding my starter, I always begin with the starter in the jar, then add water, mix it up, and finish with flour. Starter - Water - Flour, every time. Is this an odd order to do it? My thinking is that I want to mix the starter with the water, before adding flour, and if I put in a little extra flour, it's very easy to spoon a dry bit off the top to get the correct amount.
Why is it that starter ratios are ordered Starter - Flour - Water?
