I love the example that Simon Sinek uses about anxiety. Athletes show up to the race with some naturally built in anxiety and a quick mindset shift can be to tell themselves they are "excited". Just saying excited takes the exact same feeling and renames it as a positive way.
It doesn't eliminate the feelings.
It doesn't remove fear.
It doesn't guarantee an outcome.
But it does give confidence in the fact that I chose to move in this direction. No matter how good or how bad of a situation it is - I am choosing to take action. And taking action is respectable.
