Search Terms Are Legal
Just to clear this up because I keep seeing people say that “search terms are banned” on YouTube or DistroKid.
That is not what the policies say.
YouTube does not ban you from using relevant search terms in your titles, descriptions, tags, or hashtags. What they ban is misleading metadata, irrelevant keywords, excessive keyword stuffing, and using terms that have nothing to do with the actual video just to manipulate search.

DistroKid is basically the same idea. They do not say you cannot use searchable words in your song titles. They say you cannot stuff titles with extra information, URLs, social media handles, streaming-service names, weird punctuation, or misleading metadata.

So no, search terms are not automatically banned.
Using relevant searchable words is normal SEO.
Using unrelated celebrity names, misleading keywords, excessive tags, or stuffing titles with random popular terms is where you can get yourself into trouble.
