DistroKid changed the message again👀
The new line in my Distrokid Bank: "They will hit your DistroKid Bank as soon as we get them." That does not sound very hopefully for the September royalties 🤨 if would have expected something like "we're processing them." Or something. So strange that we don't get told why YouTube is withholding payment to Distrokid specific... I know a lot of you are waiting on YouTube royalties so I thought I share this with you🙏

@Adrian Dutan Thank you so much, brother. 🙏❤️ Your words really mean a lot to me, especially right now. It's been mentally exhausting, and honestly, there are days when I feel like giving up. I love making music, but it's hard to stay motivated when you're struggling to pay bills while waiting for money you've already earned. I'm trying to stay strong and keep my faith. Hey @Mark Draijer ! 😂 Well, DistroKid has officially outdone itself. After six months of working my ass off, I apparently got banned for absolutely no reason. What an amazing way to treat your artists! 👏 Honestly, DistroKid has to be the worst distribution platform I've ever dealt with. Zero transparency, useless support, and endless problems. Now I'm just hoping they'll actually let me withdraw the $900 I've earned before they find another way to screw me over. 😂 At this point, Amuse is looking better every single day!

Artist Claiming
Is it necessary to claim my artists on every platform? I know for sure Youtube. Figure Spotify, Apple, and Amazon. But what about any where else?

Not mandatory, but I’d recommend it! YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon are the priorities. Deezer, TIDAL, and Pandora are worth claiming too. It gives you more control over your profiles and access to analytics! 💪

YouTube / DistroKid payments: still radio silence…
Hey team 👋 Still no concrete news about July’s YouTube royalties through DistroKid. I’ve been looking for updates, but I can’t find anything clear. No proper explanation from either side, no YouTuber covering it that I’ve seen, and mostly speculation on Reddit… Honestly, this lack of communication isn’t normal. We should at least know what’s causing the delay and what to expect. On top of that, my views are dropping. Between the delayed payments and declining views, it’s been pretty tough to stay positive lately. I’m still putting in the work, but I won’t lie—it’s getting to me. How’s everyone else doing? Are you still waiting for July’s payments too? How are your views holding up? Hopefully @Jesse Hull or @Mark Draijer will have some news to share soon. Even a small, concrete update would help 🙏

@Yvonne Carson Yvonne, yeah, it's really concerning! What's even more frustrating is that nobody seems to be talking about it. There's absolutely no transparency from DistroKid or YouTube, and even Jesse hasn't addressed the situation. At least he's playing it safe and not sticking his neck out. Meanwhile, we're all left in the dark, waiting for money we've worked hard to earn. Something definitely feels off, and we deserve some real answers!

@Mark Tyson I completely agree with you. One month of delay is understandable, but two months without any clear explanation or communication is simply unacceptable. What worries me the most isn't even the delay itself anymore, it's the complete silence from DistroKid and YouTube. We're talking about money that artists have worked hard to earn, not some kind of bonus or favor. I'm seriously considering moving to another distributor as well. But what frustrates me is that nobody seems to be pushing for real answers, not even the bigger creators in our community. If September gets delayed too, then we really need to start asking some serious questions. We deserve transparency, answers, and most importantly, our royalties. We shouldn't have to beg to get paid for our own work.

Giving up?
I have a feeling that the AI music is pretty big, and has become overly congested. I am driving content, good looking content with AI Avatars & videos. Keep dropping music consistently, but i feel like i just can’t pop out and its been months. Tiktoks sit at 300-400 views per video while these other accs in similar genre push insane amounts, and have been pushing since they started. Again, the videos I make are similar. Yt shorts 1-2k, everything else pretty much dead. Long form videos barely get 20 views. Sometimes i think maybe i should just drop this and go try something different, been pushing for months and almost no results. No collabs, nobody wanting to feature. Feels like im just stuck in a loop.
