Thirsty Thursday?

Again drawing a blank here So I'm throwing in the next Overview installment. Today's entry:

BookCrafter/PlotCrafter in WordCrafter.Pro vs Bookweaver.Pro/PlotWeaver standalone app.

The two are very similar and have drifter a bit further apart than I intended which will be rectified soon. The each do a couple different things the other doesn't at this time. Both will write for you in different ways, with different levels of control. Quality and continuity are dependant on the model you choose more than the tool or the prompts involved. Both Create Cover briefs to start from and both create the same Kindle metadata at the end that the KDPskill room creates for your other works,

The Full Workflows are in the attached files but here are the BIG differences:

BookWeaver

BookWeaver.Pro can be used with a flat subscription fee and based on credits you purchase OR Bring your own APi Key -- This might change either way and the cost might change as I'm still evaluating. It includes the original PlotCrafter which spins up random or targeted plots ideas in 3 different lengths. I have seen similar Ultra-Detailed plots sold by others for up to $200 a piece! This is why wrote it 10 credits are about 10-20 minutes of api time and it's yours. You will have to read the BookWeaver file below for the details of the 4 ways to work with it, Start a new story from plotcrafter, Start a new story from your own ide and answer a few questions, continue a series from a book input, or submit up to 3 youtube videos for a guidebook based on their content.

The biggest single difference in the two versions of this are that BookWeaver once started runs on a remote system in the background. I've spun as many as 5 books at a time and come back in a couple of hours to finished books. Before it starts you can edit the outline, characters, story bible, length and a few other details so it can still be your story idea and direction, or full auto and see what happens. I have yet to get anything truly bad, but not everything is really good either. The quality gating and stroy thread engine keep it consistent and on track to the genre and story structure chosen. Oh and there's a really interesting nonfiction mode that takes the idea and writes a fictionalized story around the nonfiction topic. It's both interesting and sometimes a little weird.

The roadmap for BookWeaver includes a full marketing package, character cards and a variety of merch pieces you will be able to automate as well. These pieces will be in WCP could be as soon as next week, but before the end of the month for certain.

BookCrafter

BookCrafter/Plotrafter included in WordCrafter.Pro available to all subscribers now. At the end of August some of the features of WCP are moving to higher pricing tiers. BookCrafter in WCP looks very similar but saves all of its files and gets all of its inputs from either plotcrafter or the Binder. As Chapters are written they are written to the binder. It also ONLY works in the browser so it will pause if you leave the page and resume when you come back or leave the page open and let it roll. The Binder file method gives you more control and allows more detail. Instead of BookWeaver's editorial pass you use the editorial skill-room for now, but a future update will give you the choice of two methods.

So with Book Crafter you can start in plotcrafter, your own idea, use your own custom skills and the editor here, or go through the Skillrooms and Brainstorm your idea, develop it in story development and then send it to the writers room for the chapter by chapter collaborative writing the skillroom personas allow, or send your pieces to book crafter and have it written for you from your details.

I did this both ways to support several different kinds of writers. If you want to put out a book a day (or more) BookWeaver.pro is your baby. If you want more control of what your output is BookCrafter in WCP is your friend and ally.

BUT WAIT!!! There's more.....Because we have import and export filters for just about any situation (and if you need something special just ask--I'll figure it out) You can take the output from BookWeaver and import it as a new book in WCP to edit, create graphics, marketing materials or merch pieces for your BookWeaver creation in WCP.

As a great example, and you will see the results. The Scrapyard Princess book that is now 4 days late was a mess. It came from booknova and until the editrorial room and the book reporter skill looked at it I didn't think it was too bad.....sigh. So I already had it imported into WCP as a 13 chapter novella. It was supposed to be a full novel, but that's a flaw of some automations, they write short and its unknown what model was used. I look BookCrafter have it and a 13 Chapter truly awful novella became a pretty good 29 Chapter Novel at over double the word count in about 2 hours. I regenerated a couple chapters but most were much higher on the quality gates than expected. I'll share them in a video maybe tomorrow. First pass through editorial they liked it much better and the 5 chapters i've read so far tonight are so much better and the ending is truly a series starter. Total cost so far is $21.29 most of that from trying to fix the unfixable and playing with a much better cover design idea.

Currently WCP is $22 a month or $200 a year and you bring your own api keys. At the end of August there will be 3 tiers Basic, Pro and Studio at different price levels. Some tools will be moved to higher tiers. Anyone who subscribes before this will not get a price hike and will have all access to everything available when they subscribed as long as they stay. For the first two week free trial, everyone has access to everything! And if you really need a little more time than that to decide, I do like cookies.
