Damnit @Tiffany Hall and Damnit @Stacey Brooks are becoming issues with me with the ideas they keep giving me. I just answered a post on @Tiffany Hall's wonderful Mugs & Pages Skool room about judging a book by its cover... My response was how I hated that ebooks and online sales do not treat book covers, spines, and backs with proper respect and that I missed the liner notes and album books that came with music albums and that CD's eventually got there but they were not as good. Come walk with me and the way my noodling works.... Background check: I'm having focus issues this week. Frustrated at work yesterday, so I left mid afternoon. Exhausted but no time for a nap because I have to pickup the boy from school too soon Visited the local library roaming the aisles. (I think i have more books than the general collection on more varied topics) Found Interesting Book by Lee Childs about writing his Reacher series. Downloaded, added to TBR folder on phone The children's section was larger and generally more interesting I'm that long haired creepy old guy with no kids looking at kids books. Fell asleep in chair at the library woke up with a coupe ideas logged in Google Keep (never to be seen again) Scroll forward to today: dashboard and interactive use of the 141 ways book ( which already needs updating) Activity Books, recipe books, children's books Choices and options for probably transition of one book size/audience to different audiences or age groups of readers Authors writing music and songs for their books Video trailers scene cinematics like game cut scenes Books/Stories as packages... the prose is just a gateway...hrmmm Liner notes for books Authors note and backstory in each book better linking to author resources an author sites...damnit webcrafter needs to be pushed up the timeline again +++++ So What if it's not just a book but a whole package? This wouldn't work well for ebooks or would it? I remembered and dove onto my paperback shelf for some older books that had order forms printed in the back for other books the author wrote. Authors notes that told a story of their own about how the book was written and influences. Like him or not, Piers Anthony had some of the best authors notes at the back of his books, that were sometimes a more fun read than the books. Am I Still a Writer If the Machine Could Do the Whole Thing Without Me? There's a specific moment I keep having, and I don't think I've said it out loud here yet. I'm reading a chapter the Writers Room drafted. It's good. Voice holds, pacing works, the scene does what it's supposed to do. And for about half a second before I start editing it, there's a flicker — not guilt exactly, more like vertigo — where I think: did I write this? How much is really mine? I picked the genre. I built the Story Bible. I argued with FELIX about the subplot. I'll rewrite at least three paragraphs by hand before I'm done. But the sentences on the screen right now didn't come out of my fingers, and I don't have a clean answer for what that makes me. I've mostly been able to set that flicker aside, because I'm still in the loop. I'm still the one deciding. But this week I want to follow that discomfort all the way to its actual destination, because I think I've been building toward something I haven't said out loud either, and it's time to say it. Here's the thought that wouldn't leave me alone. I already have Market Scout, which researches comp authors and tells you what's selling right now and where the gaps are. I already have a Kindle Metadata skill that writes the blurb, the keywords, the BISAC categories — the whole SEO package, tuned to the algorithm, because that's just what publishing on Amazon requires now. I already have BookCrafter, which takes a premise and a genre and writes the whole manuscript, chapter by chapter, running a quality gate that kicks a chapter back for a rewrite if it doesn't score high enough, looping until it clears the bar. I already have Editorial Room doing a five-pass diagnostic and consistency audit. I already have ImageCrafter generating covers pulled straight from what's actually selling in that genre's bestseller shelf right now. I already have MarketCrafter scheduling and posting the social campaign. I already have pen names with measured voice profiles so the prose sounds consistent book after book.

My roadmap for WordCrafter.pro, Bookweaver.pro, and tarotcrafter.pro (not live yet due to that nasty encryption bug) is long and arduous and a few will probably spin out on their own as 3dbookmock.pro did this weekend. Imagecrafter, marketcrafter and a major bug in plotcrafter are all waiting for me to pull the plug and reset the encryption key and flush all of the saved api keys. I have been loath to do this because EVERYONE who uses WCP will have to re-enter new API keys. I have a number of things in WCP secured and encrypted for safety reasons. Would anyone be interested in a dedicated plugin for activity books, coloring books, or children's books? We're halfway there on all 3 already, but this might be better suited to an independent site instead of a plugin. If I did such a thing it would be a couple of months (but just in time for christmas!) You can already use bookcrafter to rewrite your stories to different lengths, longer or shorter. So a children's book setting, young adult, etc editions are possible the way Disney crafts and rebrands their stories and movies to different lengths, depths, and audiences. And for the new folks you can also story hack an existing (out of copyright work) into something totally new with the same ideas, themes and characters. "Snow White and the 7 droids", "Alice in Neverland", or make happy ever-after versions of anything from the Brothers Grimm. If you haven't read the originals, find a copy, the real stories are not what you think you know. And if you say yes to any of those give me more details as to what you would like to see, be able to do, or if you have an idea for something we do not already have and need. An idea that came across this morning from another site is a step between story development and the writers room to independently review the story bible and outline for holes and continuity. sort of readers room report on the bible and outline. Again this one would be more for the non AI writing crowd who are open to using the reporting possibilities if not the writing. The Story Development team is pretty good.
