Genre's drive the bus!

Made some major huge Genre decisions today for WordCrafter.Pro and BookWeaver.pro and am removing the 33 which got expanded to 54 original monolithic genres and completely replacing them with the Compositional Genres If you were using the originals they should still work and be attached to your existing work, but going forward only the compositional genres remain. They are so much deeper and add more complexity to the stories and allows any and *all* subgenre possibilities. I've spoken of this before and will do a video add on this tonight for a full step by step walk through.

The Genre Picker dropdowns now should all only show the Base genres and when selected will give you the list of subgenres under it. If you need one that is missing let me know and send me some source material. I am slowly moving may way down through the list I have collected in earlier chats.

Compositional Genres are created through genre research and analyzing existing works, other folks ideas and online research. Image 1 Shows the base database that they are pulled from. This is constantly under update. Each new piece of material analyzed gets rated against the existing material and either augments, adds new pieces, or gets dropped as unnecessary. The image shows what happens after I run a new analyze. Each change gets added to the right category as a draft that i can manually review before promoting for use. Every iteration and change is saved as a snapshot the same way drafts in the binder are backed up.

The second image is how I create new recipes for new subgenres based on other books, manuscripts or movies.

The third image is the 16 Base Genres that everything is derived from. These are the MASTER genres, they are robust enough to use on their own the same way the original monoliths were, but you can now drill down into the subgenre you really need based on the 5 types of audience you are writing for, 5 different romantic pairings, 25 different settings, 28 register tones, 12 Modifier tones, and 110 mechanics. Each base has its own tropes, each component adds more detail and depth and some have tropes of their own as well.

These options may be moving from genre to elsewhere a dial for heat (sweet, low, medium, high, and explicit), POV choices, Series choices, and Narrative forms, but they live here for now.

1 Audience Pick (age & content cap), 1 Base Pick (primary genre), 1 pairing (for romance), 1 setting (time/place), 1 register tone (the dominant mood), up to 2 modifier tonal accents, and up to 5 mechanics. Mix bardic magick with corporate Horror!

So For Example an 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 + 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿 + 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹/𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗸 𝗗𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗮 + 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘆 + 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱/𝗭𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 + Signature Gadgets +time travel.

Now Here's the best part the 4th image below is in your settings/genre page. At the top is an inconspicuous "New Composition" Button to CREATE YOUR OWN! Each choice you make has a short detailed explanation of what it is. The Base Genres all have personas that get added to your various rooms to help with their expertise. Some of the other components get their own experts by name as well. Think of it like working in the writer's room and they call Benny in (the comedy expert) to help out for better ideas. There's even a button at the bottom to do a random creation. Genre's you create will show up in YOUR genre picker list and no one else's. I might add a feature to choose what you share later.

I also have the thought to add the analyzer tools to each user's settings for creativity, but there are some sticky issues involved with that one.

But wait... ONE MORE THING.... you can mix up to 4 genre/subgenre choices in one manuscript. So a Sci-Fi/Romance/Spy thriller or subgenre's under the base genre's can be chosen as well. Why only 4? because the rooms get full of people and things get kinda muddy and weird. It will also get weird if you try to mix opposites together.

This does mean the end for the Genre Forge Skill in WCP but also means a new skill for me to build for folks to create their own compositional genres for straight ai use outside of WCP too.
