Do they doubt your AI service? Flip it with 3 simple steps 👇
Earlier this week, I caught up with an AI Agency owner who was struggling to close on discovery calls. He pulled up one of his call recordings, and I noticed every time the prospect expressed doubt, he’d try to convince them they were wrong. He’d pull out case studies, testimonials, anything to try and argue his point. But no matter what, he just couldn't overcome the prospect’s negative beliefs. If you’ve also experienced this problem, then this post is for you… Because today, we’re going to talk about how to overcome negative beliefs. Now, something important to note: → you cannot break beliefs, only bend them. When you try to break someone's beliefs, they dig their heels in. But when you: 1. Start with what your prospect already believes 2. Use that momentum throughout your entire message 3. Gently bend their belief towards your AI service at the end You’ll successfully bend their beliefs. So, let’s put this into practice, but not with a basic example, a trickier one… (one you might be familiar with, thanks to the hype and inflated claims surrounding AI solutions) Let’s say your prospect believes AI solutions are just bullsh*t altogether and says: → "I don't know what all the fuss is about. This stuff isn't that valuable?!" Here’s how you would bend this belief: 1. “You know… there’s a lot of noise about AI solutions being ‘revolutionary’ and all, but that’s nonsense…” 2. “Solutions like ours are just a simple upgrade that deliver [outcome]... there's nothing revolutionary about that, right?” 3. “I’ll tell you what… How about you be the judge in 30 days on whether our solution ‘revolutionised’ your [workflow] or not? Ha ha” Notice how I positioned the AI solution as a ‘simple upgrade’? Keep that line when prospects are skeptical on discovery calls. But at all costs… NEVER challenge or argue with your prospect’s beliefs. It’s the fastest way to lose the deal. You need to meet them in their world first, then they’ll follow you into yours.
