Outreach help

Currently trying to get my first customer.

Does going to local businesses and conducting a survey sound like a good idea? Survey would have a question in it that would give info on what I could automate for them (something like: what are the tasks that give you the most hassle in your everyday business life). After said survey I would build a solution and come back around a week later just asking to follow up with the survey, in which I could then offer the automation to them in some way.

Thoughts?

Is there anyway I can improve this idea if it is worth putting into action?
