I am genuinely amazed at how far Claude Skills can go when you train them properly.
I built a LinkedIn Image Creator skill for a client.
I already had images created for the client, so I just fed those to ChatGPT (our old friend) and asked it to create a brand guideline based on these images.
Then I put those in the reference section and built the linkedin-image skill with Claude.
The basis of this design creation was Canva connected to Claude via MCP.
The biggest problem tha I encountered was, that even though I had the Client's signature image in the reference folder fo the project, it somehow was not picking it up from there, so I had to manually upload it to a folder in Canva and redirect Claude to that.
I was amazed how similar the design it created was to the ones I created manually, I mean sure there was a lot of back and forth between me and claude but finally it did what I was asking it to do.
At the end of the session, I simply asked Claude:
• what it learned from the project
• what errors kept happening
• what patterns caused failures
• how those failures could be prevented next time
Then I told it to update the skills.md file with those learnings. Curious to know what others faced when creating a skill with the skill builder.
