Claude Code just dropped "Remote Control." Your local terminal is no longer a bottleneck.
If you've been integrating Claude Code into your daily stack, you already know how powerful it is. But until now, there was one massive friction point: you were chained to your local machine.
Anthropic just fixed that by rolling out the Remote Control feature, and it completely shifts how we can deploy and interact with these agents.
I spent the morning tearing down the update and testing the boundaries. Here are my notes on what this actually means for builders:
⚡ The Big Shift (Flexibility): You can now securely connect to and command your Claude Code environment from anywhere. It transitions Claude from being just a "local dev assistant" into a true remote operator. You can manage complex workflows while on the go.
⚙️ The Setup Reality: It’s not just a simple toggle switch. Getting it running requires a very specific and secure configuration. You have to be intentional about how you expose your environment so you don't leave your machine vulnerable to the open web.
🚧 The Catch (Limitations): While it's a game-changer, there is a learning curve. When you aren't staring directly at your local directory, things like session persistence and absolute file path referencing become much more critical. If you aren't careful, you'll run into execution errors.
Overall, if you are managing projects remotely or want more flexibility in your AI operations, this is the exact update we’ve been waiting for.
Question for the AI operators here: How many of you have integrated CLI-based AI agents (like Claude Code or Devin) into your actual workflows?
