I have a question about client websites

One of my clients asked me to edit his website for him, but he bought it from a seperate agency. If I create a new website for him in ghl and link the existing domain to it, will his seo data and reviews be linked to it?

That’s been my biggest obstacle right now, I’m getting leads on FB but they aren’t converting because of the clients websites. But then again I am reluctant to edit/create them because I don’t want their google rankings to go into the gutter.
