I was already out on the street, working on something else, when I checked and realized it wasn't in my wallet. I lost that assignment. That experience taught me to check everything before leaving home. It's never happened to me again.

I was always tempted to do it to save time. However, during a mentoring session, I met a woman who did just that, and the experience went very badly for her. She arrived at the appointment with the certificate already filled out before verifying the information with the signatory. It turned out that the buyer was a police sheriff. He was extremely upset, refused to sign the documents, and demanded that she print everything out again and come back when it was properly prepared. That story taught me a valuable lesson: it’s better not to even try. It’s not the right way to work. Sometimes, by trying to save a few minutes, we end up wasting much more time and damaging our professional reputation. For me, that was a fundamental lesson I’ve never forgotten.
