I was talking to one of my clients this week about why her posts weren't landing in a community she'd joined. She was posting good stuff. Nobody was replying. The problem wasn't the posts. It was that nobody in there knew who she was. @Heather Wilson also agreed. Have a look at the feed in The Skool Classifieds (this community you are reading this in), and you'll see it. People turn up, post about their own thing, and leave. Post and ghost. Then they wonder why 2,000 members scrolled past it. It's the same in every other community I'm in, and it was the same in mine before I worked it out. Think about how it works in a room. If someone walks in, talks about themselves for two minutes and walks out, nobody follows them to the door. But if they'd spent twenty minutes talking to people first, they'd have half the room listening when they finally said something. A feed is the same room. It just moves slower. What I'd do instead is pick the communities where the members might plausibly want what you do. Not every community you're in, the adjacent ones. Then spend 5 to 10 minutes commenting on other people's posts. Not "great post". Something that shows you read it. Five to ten posts. Ten minutes. Do that for a couple of weeks before you post anything of your own. Two things happen. People recognise your name when you finally post, so they stop and read instead of scrolling. And a fair few of them turn up in your comments, because that's what people do when someone's been showing up in theirs. Works the same way here as it does anywhere else. Classifieds, someone else's community, your own. Nobody replies to a stranger, and ten minutes a day is what it costs to stop being one. The faster version of this is turning up live. If you want to see who's running events across Skool this week, that's what Skool Events Daily is for.

Self Confidence, Imposter Syndrome
One and the same. The idea I find is to start messy.. just like this cool cat. One step every day is PROGRESS. Most people stay in their comfort zone out of fear of failing, being criticized. Look at folks around you who tried over and over. That’s progress. That leads to self confidence. Stop listening to the noise. Especially on social media platforms 😹 All in our minds SKOOL community

#FriendFriday 🎉
It's time to celebrate each other! In the COMMENTS BELOW, please share a Skool community you think is doing really great things. It can be one you've participated in yourself or one that you've heard from others is amazing. Please do the following: 1. Tell us the name of the community and link to it (affiliates allowed). 2. Tag the person who owns the community. If they are not in the CLASSIFIEDS, then please send them a DM and let them know that you mentioned them here. I promise you will make their day! 3. Describe why the group is so wonderful and how it has helped you. Please DO NOT just copy and paste the About page! 4. Comment on each others comments and scroll through the referrals to see if there's an amazing group you are missing out on! Thanks so much for supporting each other and this community! Please note that any #FriendFriday mentions that are created as new posts will be deleted. Thanks! Please DO NOT promote yourself. 🤨. The entire community is for promoting yourself. This post is for celebrating someone else. 😊

Two reps, identical patch, identical product. One's smashing target, the other's scraping by. The gap was never the leads. It was the close. Direct Sales Mastery closes that gap. 👉 https://www.skool.com/direct-sales-mastery/about

@Heather Wilson yesss. Funny quick story. I used to work on Wall Street. ( very boring. Hated it). My French husband had a French wine importing business. We would be at parties. People would ask us what we do. They flocked to him. They ignored me. Luckily he hired me and I became a French wine specialist in Ny. 26 years
What would you do in this situation?
I have a genuinely great problem to have, but I’d love some outside opinions. I stepped into a health + wellness business less than a year ago, and recently earned a spot in the Elite Top 40 for a leadership retreat in Tennessee — Top 20 in one of the qualifying categories. Getting into a room with some of the top leaders in the company this early in my business is an opportunity I really don’t want to miss. BUT… my husband also earned us a trip to Mexico, and the dates overlap by ONE day. So do I skip the retreat, skip Mexico, or do BOTH ... let him fly to Mexico without me and hop on a plane by myself the next day to meet him? What would you do?

@Heather Cooksey heck.. Mexico is safer than our country right now. If you are flying into a major city you’ll be fine. I’m sure the husband will meet you. Also congrats on the top dog award with your company
