I like Paddy but I think he leaves his chin up in the air too much and relies on his durability to help him win exchanges. Unless he can sub Justin (very possible) I think he loses by TKO or decision. Can’t wait to see who wins tho I like both fighters

Well, paddy did leave his chin in the air when getting pressured but damn is that guy durable 🤣. He was getting hit with shots that would’ve made my soul leave my body and my face broken and he ate them like it was breakfast after sleeping for 14 hours
Jiu Jitsu Tournament was a success
Went 2-4 but had a blast overall and had a great learning experience. Was my first time ever competing and won my first match via guillotine and my 5th match by points (11-3)

@Shea Hammond it was so dope and I can’t wait to improve on everything I learnt today. I made some mistakes and got caught and submitted from it and gassed out towards the end of my very last match so cardio will need improvement for sure. Will be back either Wednesday or Thursday and working 🔥
Tips to escape someone’s guard?
Today during rolling I kept getting trapped in guard over and over again and had trouble passing sometimes. I know the method of posturing up and putting your knee by their butt and pushing out while pushing their knee down, then sliding your knee over their thigh to transition. However, that doesn’t work all the time (especially when I’m gassed out at the end of the day) and I have little idea how to escape otherwise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

@Shea Hammond Thank you, you’re the man!
Day 1 of training camp
First day of camp for the bjj tournament. Yesterday I did some positional drills before class and during class we drilled getting out from bottom position in mount and side control and ended with some 40-50% rolls after class. Need to work on that double leg more and my single leg, as well as some other things that I want to sharpen up. But I have 4 weeks to do so, so I’ll have some time to drill and roll to prepare. Today is gonna focus on more drills in keeping pressure and holding people in a dominant position and then working to a submission from there, and likely some more rolling as well. Also I apologize for the distant camera angle but there was nobody to record for us😔. Hope to get some better and closer angles today

@Shea Hammond Study. The. Video. Today. And. All. Weekend. ✍️✍️ Thank you man I started watching it but had to leave for training so I wasn’t able to finish it. I’ll add in drilling double legs for tomorrow after class along with working on going between scarf hold and side control. And yes I didn’t even mean for it to sound like I tapped too and was a bit confused why he let go of a good arm bar cause it was starting to get tight. Wasn’t gonna let him start back with my arm tho 😂

@Shea Hammond made some notes for my double leg takedown and how to finish it and I also have a drill in mind for working between side control and scarf hold tonight when I get to the gym
Advice to prep for bjj tourny
My first bjj tournament is January 10th. Just got news about it tonight. Any advice on what I should do to prep for it? Going to up the cardio work a bit but any advice helps for preparing

@Shea Hammond thank you brother I appreciate the advice. I was mainly going for 3 minutes on one minute off on the assault bike for my cardio to increase how long I can go before I get super gassed out. But noted for the resistance rolling I was already planning on drilling and flow rolling a bunch to prep myself for the tournament. I appreciate the kind words of encouragement too!
