I used to sit on the couch watching a movie with my husband and felt an ache deep inside. I had no idea what it was. There was just something wrong. Something very deeply wrong. We had three amazing kids. The house was filled with joy. Watching them grow sparked something inside me, love, pride, fascination... I thought this is amazing! This is the life I've always dreamt of. But I was wrong, so deeply wrong. Because my husband and I were guilty of something that many people do. We took each other for granted. We ignored each other. We focus all of our energy on anything but each other. And our relationship withered. It wasn't until we split up and got divorced that I realized that that feeling was loneliness. I didn't feel seen, loved, supported. I felt like I didn't matter. Of course, I meant the world to my kids, but adult relationships and child relationships are very different. The fulfillment I needed as an adult was not there. And that was when I said, "Never again!" I became crystal clear on the things I needed and wanted in life and relationships. I was never going to fall into that rut of complacency again. I was never going to settle for somebody else putting me there either! Then I met Billy. Everything was different. Someone recently said to me, "We've just fallen into this routine where we don't have time because we're growing our businesses and we're like strangers passing in the night. We feel unconnected", and then they ask me, "Don't you ever feel like that?" I answered without thinking, but it still struck me... no, I don't, because I don't allow that, because I know that I can have the most successful business in the world, but without Billy by my side it doesn't matter. I also know that without Billy by my side I could never build the most successful business in the world! When I say that your relationship is one of your greatest assets in business, I'm not just saying those words, I believe it! His support gives me confidence, it energizes me and helps me move forward every day. I'm doing this for myself, I'm doing this for him, I'm doing it for my kids. The only thing that's optional in there is the business... My family is the most important thing.
