My #1 Secret for Teaching Kids (and everyone else!) to Crochet 🤫
I often get asked how I got my kids to learn. My secret? The "Chain Challenge." Don't start with a project. Start with a personal challenge. See who can make the longest "snake". It builds muscle memory without the frustration of turning rows. Teaching someone you love can be... stressful. I work hard to take the stress out of the process.

think my hubby wanted to learn at one point and this would be the perfect way. Do a repetitive stitch like this.
The "CEO of Chill" is taking a Reset Day 🕊️✨
👋Hey Sanctuary family, I’m popping in to lead by example today. Today I am taking the 3-Breath Hook-Up and clearing the Visual Clutter for myself—and for the vibe of this community. I’m taking some time today to step away from the "to-do" list and focus on resetting. I'm clearing my space, checking in with my own nervous system, and making sure the "Quiet Room" starts off as exactly that—quiet, cozy, and intentional for all of us. I’m ditching the Hard Pants, grabbing my Anchor Hook, and spending some quality time in a Yarn-Trance to recharge my batteries. 🔋 But I want to hear from you! To find our collective flow, we all need to hit the "undo" button sometimes. So, tell me: What are you doing to reset today? * Are you finally putting on your Stitching Pants? 👖 Are you doing a "Deep Frog" on a project that’s been stressing you out? 🐸 Are you just sitting with your yarn and breathing for five minutes? 🌬️ Drop a comment below and let us know your reset plan. Let’s hold some space for each other to just be today. 👇🧶

🌧️ The Power of the Pour: Why I’m Choosing to Slow Down Today
We often view rain as an inconvenience—a reason to cancel plans, a "gloomy" day, or an extra bit of traffic on the commute. But today, I’m looking at it differently. To me, rain represents pure renewal. Just like the earth needs a heavy downpour to wash away the dust and trigger new growth, our minds need moments to "wash off" the noise of the daily grind. Why I’m leaning into the "Refresh"? When the sky opens up, I take it as a permission slip from nature to: - Slow Down: I stop racing against my to-do list and match the steady rhythm of the rain. - Reflect: The sound creates a natural "white noise" that helps me clear out the mental clutter. - Appreciate: I look at the vibrant greens and the way everything feels brand new after the storm passes. Growth doesn't always happen in the bright sunshine. Sometimes, the most important progress happens during the "inclement weather"—when we are forced to go inward, rest, and prepare for the next season. 💬 How do you handle "rainy" days (literal or metaphorical)? Do you push through the storm, or do you take it as an opportunity to reset and refresh? Drop a comment below and let me know your favorite way to slow down! 👇

I had rain up here yesterday morning in MD. Then it turned very windy(blow my car around windy) last night and got bitterly cold.
The dreaded repetitive row
Yes....the dragon eye pillow is back. I can no longer procrastinate. This beast must be completed and shipped by Tuesday. So, how do I get myself thru it? Today, I first spend about 30 minutes procrastinating making multiple posts of different platforms discussing the situation. Haha But, now, after this post, I must ACTUALLY begin. How will I do it? The dreaded repetitive, sleep inducing rhythm of back and forth, (sc, dc), sk next stitch repeat? Im challenging myself! I have approximately 12 rows left of the first 18x18 panel and then an entire 18x18 multi color panel to complete afterwards. The challenge, complete the firstb12 rows in the next hour. Let's see if I can do it. Music is going on and hook is in hand. While we wait, tell me what you do to muddle thru the mundane crochet tasks you dislike.
