Whatcha Workin' On? (New Year’s Eve Edition) 🥂
Are you finishing up those last-minute 2025 gifts, or have you already started your first project for 2026? I’m currently working on a custom order, but when I want to break it up, I'm continuing on my scrappy projects. Post a "shelfie" or a photo of your current WIP right now. No cleaning up the yarn scraps allowed—we want to see the real creative chaos! 📸

The Scrap Challenge: Turning "Leftovers" into High-Value Designs 🧶✨
Let’s talk about the one thing every maker has in common: The Scrap Mountain. Today, I’m clearing my yarn closest and my mind by diving into one of my many scrap baskets, starting with the blanket yarn. But instead of just "using it up," I’m using this as a design exercise. The Goal: Create high-utility, "light-load" items that solve a problem. On my hook today: 👜The Scrappy Hand Bag: Perfect for practicing color transitions and durability. 📱The "Essential" Phone Pouch: I’m prototyping a design with a built-in pocket for an ID and CC. It’s for those moments when you want to be hands-free and unburdened—the ultimate "mindful" accessory. Why am I sharing this here? Because "scrappy" doesn't have to mean "messy." It’s actually one of the best ways to practice Color Theory and Stitch Consistency without the pressure of a giant project. YOUR CHALLENGE: Go to your scrap stash right now. Pick 3 colors that you think don't go together and try to make a small 4x4 square. Post a photo of your "Unexpected Combo" below! I'll be posting the final products once finished, so stay tuned!

The dreaded repetitive row
Yes....the dragon eye pillow is back. I can no longer procrastinate. This beast must be completed and shipped by Tuesday. So, how do I get myself thru it? Today, I first spend about 30 minutes procrastinating making multiple posts of different platforms discussing the situation. Haha But, now, after this post, I must ACTUALLY begin. How will I do it? The dreaded repetitive, sleep inducing rhythm of back and forth, (sc, dc), sk next stitch repeat? Im challenging myself! I have approximately 12 rows left of the first 18x18 panel and then an entire 18x18 multi color panel to complete afterwards. The challenge, complete the firstb12 rows in the next hour. Let's see if I can do it. Music is going on and hook is in hand. While we wait, tell me what you do to muddle thru the mundane crochet tasks you dislike.

Late night crochet sessions
I TRY to go to bed at a decent time. I promise I do. That hook and yarn always call in me to complete something left unfinished while I wait on one thing or another. Tonight, it's these coasters... Does the hook call you at night too?

Spending a cozy humpday afternoon hook in hand.
I have a custom order due tomorrow that I have deeply procrastinated completing! She ordered 2 and I am currently about 3/4 finished the first 1. I'm excited to complete it, but find the project itself keeps my mind wondering. It's just rows back and forth. Anyone else have this happen? Do you bore of certain patterns?
