I thought I had a brown thumb!
This is my first time ever planting a garden and to be honest I figured I would kill everything (I can't keep spider plants alive for the life of me!) but thought I would give it a try. I think I am doing ok, in fact my grandson calls it my jungle! lol

We Have Baby Lemons!
OK, maybe not everyone is as exicted as I am when something fruits that you just weren't sure would. But I have baby lemons on my Myers Lemon Tree🍋. I bought it last summer and have had it in the house over the winter. It bloomed late winter/early Spring and now I have found a few baby lemons. So excited to see how this little experiment continues to grow and surprise me. I do have it in about a 2 gallon container at this point. We'll see how long it goes before I have to give it a larger pot. In the meantime, I am dreaming of fresh squeezed lemonade.😋

I want to grow Meyer lemons one of these days. I go through anywhere from 12-16 lemons a week so I figure if I can grow them it would save me a lot of money. 😃
How to Save Budget on Buying Quality Flower Pots?
So, being tight on my budget, and yet, still love to do gardening, found some ways, based on research and strategies that I implemented to get better pots for my plants. Some of the better ways could be... ♻️ Repurpose plastic boxes, and even, paint cans to create pots for large plants. You can carve plastic bottles to make small pots for your plants. or, 🪴Buy used pots from nursery (just to check for any damages before buying). They are cheaper to buy, or maybe, 🤝 Request your neighbors to borrow any pots, if they are having some spares. If there are any suggestions to save budget in having flower pots, feel free to share.

I bought a bunch of pots of all different sizes at the dollar tree. On most of them the drain holes need to either be poked out or drilled out, but they work.

@Donna Scarborough I know. I bought a bunch of both sizes (they had small ones and large ones), I am using the small ones for my herbs and the larger ones for my spinach and chamomile. There were others I got as well. I was really surprised at the selection.

I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 1. I am a 3 time cancer survivor and hoping it never comes back again.
