Herbs For Every Occasion
Herbs are such versatile plants. From seasoning our food, helping our bodies to delicious teas. And then they are also such helpers in the gardens. They can repel unwanted insects, four legged critters, even some not so friendly insects.๐Ÿชฐ These versatile plants are a must have in our garden. We've been expanding each year on which ones we grow for helping to protect the garden and giving us some delicious flavors for our kitchen. What' your favorite herb to grow and why? โค๏ธ

I have Sweet Basil growing in my small garden. Thinking of growing Cilantro and one more but no idea what to grow. Thinking to grow that could grow in high humidity and temperature with low sun exposure (around 2 to 3 hours)

@Donna Scarborough I did attempt to grow cilantro, but turns out it failed. Most seeds were eaten by birds. Noted how they pecked the soil to eat those seeds. It didn't grow.
Decorating with Plants: Styling Your Space with Greenery
Plants arenโ€™t just for the gardenโ€”theyโ€™re one of the easiest (and healthiest!) ways to decorate your home. Great emphasis on plant decoration @Donna Scarborough ! it's crucial to consider plant decoration, even before buying any plants, because deciding on plants, based on its requirements, colors, leaf shape and even structure can help in landscaping your home or garden. I do find risky in mixing succulent with other plants, as it could risk in overwatering succulents or maybe cactus, but yeah, plant decoration is quite strategic. As for decorations, I do find leaf shapes, size and color important to create a better combination. A white-walled room, or decent colored room, such as of light grey, can pop out bold colors of leaves, such as of Monstera Deliciosa.
Experimenting with Water Propagation of Indoor Plant Cuttings
For the past couple of months, I didn't obtain better growth with my cuttings when propagating them in water, until... ...I observed one of the gardeners' outstanding results in a WhatsApp group. Based on his results, he: ๐Ÿ’ก Used LED lights in close proximity, ๐Ÿ’ฆ Changed water, each day, and, ๐ŸŒฑ Incorporated clay balls after obtaining 3 to 4 inches of root growth on his cuttings. So, based on his practices, I made a few tweaks, though, but it did improve my outcomes, i.e., accelerated root growth in my cuttings. Placed my plants' cuttings where they could receive morning sunlight, ๐Ÿ’งChange water each day, ๐Ÿถ Due to the limits of having brown bottles, used them to propagate my P. micans, and found them beneficial, ๐Ÿซ— As roots were growing longer, lowered the water level further to expose some part of the root to obtain oxygen. So, after few weeks, planted most cuttings in soil and taking time to adjust. Now, feeling confident to grow more cuttings in future.

@Ayana Kone It still is a learning process. But yeah, having a community sure is beneficial to learn.
Eggplant Suspense
How will I know when this eggplant is ready to harvest? Apparently, Iโ€™m supposed to โ€œwait until itโ€™s fully mature,โ€ but Iโ€™ve been hovering over it like a kid eyeing the last slice of cake at a birthday party. Iโ€™m trying not to grab it too soon out of pure excitement, but at this point, the eggplantโ€™s probably stalling on purposeโ€”just to see how long it can keep me guessing before I crack.

You bought a great question @Sylvia Wicks ! It reminds me of my recent about Pectin, during my MS studies. My thought would be if you could check its stalk to see if it's changing, maybe getting thinner or discoloring, in order to drop the eggplant. If the stalk starts to change, after the fruit stop changing its color, shape or size, maybe, you can pick that eggplant.
My Outdoor Plants getting attacked by Birds and Animals
It's been around a week or two, since find better place for my outdoor plants to get more sunlight exposure. Within few days, some plants gets its leaves torn by some birds or animals. So, instead of panicking, have to calm and think of ways of how to prune them for maximal growth. P.S. How do you protect your plants from birds and animals?
