Notes: Types of Freelancing & Choosing Based on Interest
1. Types of Freelancing (Choose Based on Interest) Freelancing has many different fields. Everyone should choose a field based on their interest, mindset, and natural strengths, not just trends. Common freelancing fields include: - Programming / Development - Consulting - Marketing & Sales - Design (Graphic, UI/UX, etc.) - Writing & Content Creation Before choosing a field, ask yourself:👉 Which type of work do I enjoy and can do consistently? 2. Personal Experience (Learning from Trial & Error) - I started with graphic designing, but later realized that constant creativity did not come naturally to me. - After that, I moved into programming, related to my degree. - I spent 1.5 years learning programming Before programming, I had already taken basic e-commerce and marketing courses, and I found them more interesting. Now, I am working in a field where: - I implement new ideas - Build strategies - Understand how people think - Learn how sales grow This makes the work more engaging for me, even though I am still learning. 3. Understand Your Behavior & Personality Choosing a freelancing field also depends on your personality: - Are you introvert or extrovert? - Do you prefer deep focused work or communication with people? Examples: One of my friends is very strong in coding and says:“Give me any task, I will build it — just don’t make me talk to clients.” Another friend spent a year learning Canva and selling courses, templates in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. - His communication skills are very strong. - He performs very well in sales and marketing.
