@Whit Dubo this served as a reminder to me too Whit...you have SO much value. When you mention the tools that are available and use cases for them...it is very helpful. I tend to like to focus on whatever thing is most relevant to whatever my present goal is. But when you mention things, it gets filed away in my mind...and that is a good thing because sometimes I will be doing something and then I will remember the thing you said in a comment. That experience will switch a light bulb on. Next thing you know, I have a new reason to learn that thing I filed away that you mentioned in a comment.

New YAMS Build: Camera-Confidence OS 👀🎥

Okay y’all… @Steven Frazier sparked a REALLY good idea inside the community. 🔥 He mentioned creating a teleprompter-style tool for people who want to read their scripts from their computer screen without looking like they’re obviously reading. And honestly? That idea hit immediately. Because trying to record content while remembering every single word is stressful! And reading from your screen can get awkward fast when your eyes start doing the “left, right, left, wait where was I?” dance 😭 The build: The app is called: Camera-Confidence OS A creator-friendly teleprompter tool that helps you paste your script, adjust your scroll speed, enlarge the text, go fullscreen, practice your delivery, and record smoother videos with more confidence. And I added something that makes it feel even better: Pacing customization. So instead of the script scrolling at one robotic speed the entire time, you can adjust the flow while you read. You can slow it down, speed it up, pause, and make the delivery feel more natural while you’re recording. @Whit Dubo I thought of another trick that I have seen other people use...Just get a good take of the first line, the middle line, and the last line while looking into the camera. But read the whole thing and use B-Roll to cover up the bits where you are not looking into the camera. That way you do not have to memorize the whole script...as a suggestion. I see other people doing this. Though I am not so sure I want to explore it...I much prefer Arlan's style where we get to see her the whole way through the video. I can see how both options have value.

Idea for you Whit

Hey @Whit Dubo could you build a teleprompter tool for a Mac desktop computer? If I create a script, I would like to be able to read it from my computer screen without it look like I am reading it from my computer screen. I feel like a lot of people would be able to get use out of it as well.

@Whit Dubo I actually had those features in mine as well...the issue I am finding is that no matter how good I make the tool...it can't get around my eyes being off to the side while reading it. This is the reason for having a physical teleprompter that is directly in front of the camera so your eye line remains focused on the camera lens so it feels like you are speaking to a person. There are a couple of solutions I am considering.... 1.) Instead of having a script...have bullet points and improvise on each bullet point as you look into the camera. Only look at the teleprompter for the next bullet point/section topic. Use a key command to advance each topic. 2) Keep the script, but use some sort of tool to correct the eye line so even though you are looking off to the side, it will make it so your eyes look like they are looking into the camera. And most important, no teleprompter is going to make up for a mid script and a lackluster delivery. That has been my journey the last 24 hours or so. I hope to work some more on the video later today. I will send a link once I have it together.
