From $350 → $499: How Consultations Changed Everything
When I started offering in person consultations, everything shifted. When people come in for consultations, I build value first. I explain the process, do a brow “preview trail” with removable makeup & build trust and rapport. By the time I tell them the price ($500 instead of $350), they don’t flinch. They already know I am the artist they want to work with 🙌. Yes, this takes time, confidence, and practice. But the more clients you get, the more: ✨ Your skills improve ✨ Your confidence grows ✨ Your sales conversations become easier ✨ Here’s a little behind-the-scenes secret: Sometimes I get people who ask about pricing before they even book a consultation. I call these price-sensitive leads. For them, I offer $449 (a $50 savings off the full price)—this is the lowest I’m willing to work for. Now, if price isn’t brought up right away, I focus on building value during the consultation. In that case, my rate is $499 for the first session. I also make the second session optional—not because people don’t need it, but because it makes the initial investment feel more approachable (even though most clients do come back for it). On my website, my pricing is always clear: $499 for the first session, with an optional $150 second session. This way, both organic visitors and leads from ads know exactly what to expect before reaching out. 💬 Drop a comment with what you currently charge—and be honest, have you ever lowered your prices just to attract more clients? Here’s the good news: you don’t have to rely on that strategy anymore. There are better ways to fill your books without undercutting your value.

I’ve tried so many of these methods—consultations, clear pricing, value building—but I still feel stuck 😅. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just the area I’m in or something I’m missing. It’s encouraging to see how this worked for you though—it gives me hope that I just need to keep pushing and refining my process. Yes! I'd drop my prices before but dropping my prices I find a lot of problems people that want Beyoncé brows, but he McDonald’s money

Yes, I’ve tried offering free consultations, and I actually had a lot of people book them. The issue is most of them never showed up, even though they get reminders by text and email, which ended up wasting my time and energy, and honestly, it felt pretty disrespectful. That’s why I’ve been hesitant with free consults. How do you handle no-shows when you offer them?
