They Said I Can't
Ever have someone try to convince you you can't accomplish your goals? Even with not feeling much of my legs, I did it! Don't let people decide your future! It took developing balance, flow with the horse and upper body control - not leg muscle. Learn how at The Balanced Rider

@Eileen Bennett For real! When I was President of the Utah Dressage Society I covered the topic of biomechanics at one of our winter symposiums. The BIG trainers poo pooed it and even walked out. I was sad. Defeated. But those that stayed - I saw lightbulbs going off. I tend to swim the other direction than most and am glad I did the topic even though some on the board didn't want that as a symposium topic. So much resistance. I think bc what they don't know or understand scares them.

@Eileen Bennett for sure - it clouds people's judgment for sure.
#WinWednesday (with a twist)
My win testimonial is for a new riding student of mine that has only been riding a few weeks and she has progressed in her self talk this week. She gets down on herself (as we all do) so horse riding is a way she can practice giving herself grace bc anything equestrian is hard! She planned out realistic goals and I am proud of her! Part pf my job as an equestrian coach is developing the whole rider, not just the skills.

@Chanie Twersky Yes it is so grounding and helps us stop and get out of the rat race! Make you feel so much better doing farm chores and being out ion the sun. Wel, sometimes it rains or snows but I love it all the same.

@Tim Norris It's the same. Well, except horses can be dangerous. I guess dogs can too.
Calling aspiring children's book authors!
Hi, I’m Rachel J Harmsworth, a children’s author with a BA in English Literature & Creative Writing and an MA in Writing for Children. I've been a Creative Writing Tutor and a Business Book Coach for over 10 years and I'm currently focusing on teaching adults to write for children. I've just set up a free Skool community - 'Writing for Children' - at https://www.skool.com/writing-for-children-9031 I'd love to get some founder members into the group and get things started, so if you are an aspiring author wanting to write for Young Readers (7-9) or Middle Grade (9-12) with a focus on imagination, fantasy, animals or humour, I'd love to support you on your journey. The first 20 members will be my Founder Members and their membership will remain free for life. I look forward to seeing you in there! Happy Writing, Rachel

#WinWednesday - the "Your Best Course" Build Lab
@Brenda Chilstrom is launching an amazing community for parents of picky eaters called Raising Curious Eaters, and as an award-winning occupational therapist, she knows what she's talking about! Here's a comment she made last week in the Build Lab: "Cue the ugly tears 😭 I’m adding my signature course into my classroom today… and it’s a lot more emotional than I expected it to be. @Shannon Boyer I truly can’t even put it into words how thankful I am for your guidance. 🩷 This course has been a labor of love from the very beginning. It’s had its bumps, pivots, and long pauses along the way. Shannon doesn't just teach course creation. She models clarity, structure, integrity, and belief. She helped me take what felt big and messy in my head and turn it into something organized, intentional, and real. She asked the right questions. She encouraged without pushing. She reminded me that my voice and perspective matter... and that they aren’t just the same as every other feeding course out there. I don’t think I realized how much I was growing alongside this course. For anyone whose course is taking longer than you thought… keep going. You’ll know when the time is right to step into the flow of creation and get ’er done. And Shannon… thank you for walking beside me in this. I’m so incredibly grateful." I'm so proud of Brenda and everything she's accomplished. If you are the parent, grandparent, or friend of a picky eater, you now know where to go! If you'd also like to create a course that you are super proud to put out into the world, I'd love to support you in your journey in the "Your Best Course" Build Lab!

Here is some feedback from one of my riders who lacked confidence.... "Well it was wet and windy yesterday and I had a lesson booked. The devil on my shoulder started, oh it's too windy, you haven't been in the school for ages, he doesn't like the school. The usual stuff, when I got to the yard my instructor was there( she's the yard owner)and I asked if I could change my lesson to another day but she couldn't. I got my brave pants on and went for it,all I could hear was Jan's voice and what she says about RAS. It was a great lesson, very productive, he was a bit fresh at first but then settled . I'm so glad I did it" Michelle (Pic shows her jumping her horse again)
