Spoiler alert: Everyone still had fun and $174,000 in sales with $50,000 cash collected. There are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of creators and influencers with 5,000 or less followers on their FB profiles, Insta, YT channels, Email lists, X, Pinterest that could... Use the same EXACT method that Nick and Marcus did. And it doesn't have to be perfect. Why? Because the auction format is SO FORGIVING! Without knowing the video's context or original framing, weāre definitely missing some key ingredientsā¦ So this feels a bit like reverse-engineering shadows on a cave wall while doing detective work off a beer coaster and a vibe ā but here goes. (And mateā¦ if that beer coaster gets put to proper use, this whole thing will get a damn sight funner.) We all know Travis is definitely not mixing mojo with stiffs...and provides a hint in "working on a FUN-NEL" Travis isn't worried about whether the ātacticā made sense. He plays in a different lane entirely. His whole FUN-NEL philosophy relies on emotional signals ā his infamous "indicators of interest". He wants to know whether the other person is leaning in, curious, amused, or willing to meet him in that playful, slightly off-beat space he operates from. OPEN LOOP GUY replies are guarded and technical ā āI like the open loopā and āIt makes sense tactically.ā Those are analytical comments, not emotional ones. They donāt open anything up, they donāt show resonance, and they donāt invite deeper interaction. They keep the dynamic at a polite distance. It's the conversational equivalent of "pistols from 10-paces" Travis wants to move the conversation away from 10-paces-with-pistols and into something playful, open, and momentum-building. Let's get on the same god damn side of the table. āThat bad huh!ā ā¦itās not defensiveness. Itās a pattern interrupt. A nudge that says, āIf thatās all you noticed, weāre still stuck in surface-level mode. Give me something real.ā OPEN LOOP GUY didn't come out to play so.. āWhenever I get comments on the āgood marketingā instead of āMORE PLEASEāā¦ I pooped the bed.ā not self-flagellating ā heās deliberately exaggerating to shift the conversation out of tactical dissection and into something more human. Heās essentially saying: āDonāt treat this like a marketing review. Tell me how it felt. Show me some spark.ā āGuessing I didnāt make sense.ā This isnāt insecurity either.
