Argh...
Currently writing not one, but TWO pieces in verse. For my usual buyer a piece has to be a complete narrative (beginning, middle, end) and come in at (or under) two pages. Now, I like this format, but writing that in metered verse does make the writing trickier. A LOT trickier. Kill me.

Argh...
Here is a list of things that are not doing the thing:
“Preparing to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Scheduling time to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Making a to-do list for the thing isn't doing the thing. Telling people you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Messaging friends who may or may not be doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Writing a banger tweet about how you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on yourself for not doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on other people who have done the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on the obstacles in the way of doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Fantasizing about all of the adoration you'll receive once you do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how other people did the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading this essay isn't doing the thing. The only thing that is doing the thing is doing the thing.” — Strangest Loop I don't know about you guys, but when I feel like I'm "failing," I often find through self-reflection that I am doing something on this list other than doing the thing. Anyone else?

Dood, I am feeling so seen and so attacked right now.
Intro because Eric says I have to
Hey all! I'm late to joining the cools kids here, but Eric said I had to (threatened my books and everything! Okay fine, not really) So... here I am. When I'm not mom-ing so hard, I attempt to write YA fantasy, often make weird social media videos (lipsyncing is actually my only talent) and have acquired an unhealthy caffeine addiction. Write books, they said. It will be fun, they said. 🤨

*gasp* There's nothing unhealthy about caffeine! Also, welcome!

My first vendor market!
Super excited and full of imposter syndrome, but happy to be here! Also, I spent an hour last night ironing out this freaking black table cloth, and this picture highlights every single horrible wrinkle! What a waste of time 😂😂

@Alec Woodbury EXCELLENT!
The 'Algorithm' Doesn't Exsist
"I don't know what The Algorithm wants." This is the most common phrase I hear from authors trying to grow on social media. I have a secret. I know what it wants. The algorithm just wants people to stay on social media. That means it wants content that grabs attention fast, keeps it for a minute, and encourages them to stay for more. How do you do that, though? You tell me, you're the author. How do you do it in a book? How do you hook them with a great first line, make their tummy tickle in the first chapter, and get them to read 'just one more'? Don't worry about what The Algorithm wants, just give your audience what they want. Tell good stories.
