Best non writing, writing advice.
I don't know about you, but I really struggle to sit for longer than 2 hours and write. I will do pushups, pull-ups, and go on short walks to break it up. Just moving helps me reclaim my focus. What about you? What is your best non-writing, writing advice?

I work 12 hour shifts. When I'm not listening to an audiobook I will skim over my writings and notes. Doing that, I usually make notes of how I want to continue my writing, any changes, and big big picture ideas for my universe. I spend most of my shifts driving and parking so I feel the constant change of scenery helps keep the braind moving.
Hello Everyone!
Hello everyone! I am an overnight police officer that emphasizes teaching and community building. I have a physics degree that has been collecting dust since I got it. I got back into recreational reading last summer when a friend finally convinced me to read the Cosmere universe. One DSNX convention, and dozens of books later, and I'm still going. I have always wanted to write stories since middle school but never really put ideas down until last year. I'm currently 11k words into my first book but have stopped to focus on universe building (wanting to make multiple series set in the same universe). Writing has been slow as we welcomed a baby girl in February, currently holding her as I type this lol. I am happy to find a place of like minds, and can't wait to share my progress with you. Don't hold back on future critiques as my brain is wired for numbers and writing is a craft I am painfully and slowly learning.

@JoAnne Maluti series will be an epic fantasy. I do plan on doing cozy fantasy and sci-fi in the same universe, possibly with some recurring characters. For this trilogy think evil empire, rebellion, unlikely trio, and powers/mentors that take you off world.

How’s everyone coming along so far???

Awesome work! I plan on jumping onto the challenge this weekend once I'm done with this long work stretch.
Tropes
I want to know your favorite tropes to write vs your favorite tropes to read, do they differ? Are they the same? I’m curious

I always find myself reading the chosen one or mentor tropes. My guilty pleasure is a enemies to lovers but I'm very picky with it. My current series I'm writing is a mix of mentor and chosen trio. I do have plans on doing a found family/reluctant hero one down the road. What about you?

Aspiring fantasy author who reads more than he writes. Physics degree is currently collecting dust.
