The Shocking Reality:
I warn you all, this is gonna be a long read. A few years a go, could be 10-15years ago to be exact; UAE opened up to getting employees from the African continent. Allow me concentrate on the East African region for that's where I come from. Rarely did they hire them for senior positions for reasons I can never fully explain no matter how fit you were for the job. I actually once came face to face with a job order and it exactly had who can apply for these jobs, sorry to say but it was based on race. Please be open minded I am heading somewhere with this. The jobs most people Africans applied for were what we call casual laborers, like house maids, guards, plumbers, welders, waiters, waitresses etc. The beautiful thing they always did was to re-train them, apart from the house maids of course. After my high school, i needed to support my family/siblings and so i almost left the country to go for these jobs but the input was way to much for me to afford back then. Allow me explain that what happens is the recruiting contracted to recruit on behalf of the employer would charge/still charge between 7-15million Uganda shillings that's $2000 - $4500. Don't you forget that the employer would pay the recruiter about $2000 utmost for every befitting employee. So this because a very profiting business due to the high levels of unemployed. Parents sold plots of land, property to have their kids in UAE for better opportunities. And the money was good back in the day. A maid earning about $1000 a month even under all nature of mistreatment; boy that was a great deal. That was like 350% increase of what they are accustomed to back home. Now times have changed and the most they get as maids is $250 a month. Fast forward, last year I pick interest in recruitment after seeing a lot of corpses coming back from UAE of maids killed under mistreatment in these homes. I wished to change this. I didn't care that I could not change the entire industry but believed I could bring hope. I opted recruit into any other part of the world but not into UAE. As years have gone by the cost of living has sky rocketed, the levels of unemployment are wild so there will always be people looking for better opportunities out of the part of the world. So in February 2023 I registered my company VAYIKRA UGANDA LTD, (do well to check us out on LinkedIn.com/vayikra-uganda) did the bare minimum and started searching for partners. Friends, if its cold emails, that I have done, searched the internet, and anything you can imagine. In April I go a green light with an Australian company, advertised for the talent they need, went through the processes. And every applicant was to be 25million, that's like $7500 in total for the opportunity. Many were willing because these were relocation opportunities. I was to be paid $1000 head once their paper work is done. Anyways the deal didn't see the light of day due to some reasons among which included the increase of the minimum wage from $59000 to $70000. I am told employers changed their minds that were originally interested. Anyways I continued the search. To this day I have not done an successful placement, aint giving up either. Then about 15days ago, I somehow feel nudged to study deeply into the global recruitment systems. I jump onto YouTube, and BOOM I start watching videos. I picked a lot of interest in two recruiters content and concentrated on it, that's Recruiter Preston and The Millionaire Recruiter. I kept seeing RECRUITEMY suggested but somehow the name sounded funny to my ears and for about 7days I skipped the content. Then one day I accidently played the video. It was about using LinkedIn. That how my search ended. BUT WHAT DISCOVERY DID I MAKE. Its in these 15 days that I learned that a recruiter can be paid $10,000 a one fitting applicant. And of course I still in shock. The question I guess for me is can PEACE.K really be paid that amount...…I know you must be laughing but YES that's the question. And I am asking why were people showing off for the peanuts the earned off recruitment, do they know this information? Shocked as I am, this has to work for me. One day I will return here to testify. This story will be pulled out as I document my success story. And yes as I am yet to niche out, I am still passionate about contributing toward reducing the the level of unemployment in my home country. It would be a dream come true to find partners. There is a lot of skilled labor. This knowledge is a win for me.
