Ok sorry it took me so long to chime in! So Silk Reeling is honestly Chen family body mechanics. In Yang family, its more like Peng, or becoming a ball. In Chen family, it is silk reeling. When you perform Silk Reeling properly, you are integrating your legs to push and pull into each movement. I will try to make an instructional video soon to help out with this for you. But the concept is, the structure, and the movement style is the same throughout everything you do in Chen style. Forms, weapons, combat, its all Chan Su Jin.

What do I do with my feet?🤔
I read this article earlier today, apparently it was from 1999, lol. (Don't worry, it's short.😎) It talks about what to do with your feet in Tai Chi and how to prevent injury to the knees. Injury to the knees usually occurs due to misalignments, so checking where your feet are can help. Does anyone have any of the issues mentioned in the article with the knees or feet?

Don't collapse during steps, make sure your foot can gently touch the ground before you start to transition your weight. Hips, knees, toes should be aligned. Knees should not pass the toes.

"Song", what does it mean?🤔
This Chinese term is translated in many ways. Usually you'll hear "sinking" or "relax and release". The Chinese character is said to look like pulling the pin out and "letting your hair down." I've also heard it as "open". So what does that mean? The easiest way to understand it is to look for the feeling of sitting in a chair vs. the feeling of doing a squat. With a squat you use your muscles to hold yourself up so you don't fall down. When sitting in a chair you let yourself go and plop down into the chair. That is the "sinking" feeling you are looking for. You don't want to plop down if you're standing, but you want to be light, relaxed, and not using unnecessary muscles and tension to hold yourself up. If you are able, try both and feel the contrast. In this video he talks about what happens with the arms as a result. As you sink, the arms begin to float up. Enjoy.🙏

I understand the concept you were explaining. I just feel it's only partially correct, only because you can sink your arms too, and even if you sink your body and your arms float up, doesn't mean there is power. But in the long run, it may just be a limitation on using our words to explain things that have to be felt to understand. We may be saying the exact same thing.
