Everything is Connected ☯️
We have a tendency to look at light vs. dark. Light OR dark. But what if it's light AND dark. Not one or the other. But both. Together. One harmonious whole. I see me. You see you. But what if we are just the same consciousness? One harmonious whole. Not separate at all. Is a drop from the ocean still the ocean? Is the ocean more than just a drop? Many people see spirituality VS. science. But what if they are just different points of view. Part of one whole. And what happens if/when they agree⁉️

@Lisa Black And the more some things change, the more they stay the same. Life is a funny thing, lol. I never spent a lot of time on the phone, but back in the day, when the phone was just A thing, not THE thing, I used it way more. Whereas now our society revolves almost completely around the phone and I can't be bothered with it, lol. I guess now with all of the things the phone can do, the actual phone part, the talking, just gets lost in the shuffle and pushed to the back.

@Lisa Black A phone call is often faster too. And if you do a video call it improves everything even more. I think the interruption thing is one of the reasons why I don't do it. If I get a text, I can get to it when I get to it and continue to do whatever else I'm doing. Whereas a call takes all my focus and halts whatever else I've got going on. So if I've planned for and scheduled the call ahead of time, that's no problem, but when someone just calls out of the blue the dilemma becomes whether to drop whatever I'm doing or ignore the call. And I almost always ignore the call. Especially if I don't even know who's calling, then it's a no-brainer.
Zhuangzi vs. Laozi 📿
Laozi (Lao Tzu) is the most well known of the Taoist sages through the Tao Te Ching. In this video, Master Bruce Frantzis discusses the differences between Laozi and Zhaungzi and why Laozi is more well known.🙏

A Very DOOM Christmas 🎄
The flutes are great for practicing Tai Chi... BUT... I grew up a BIG Hip-Hop head! AND the drum beats give the practice a completely different vibe. DOOM is one of my favorite MCs, So of course this is one of my all time favorite Christmas playlists. Check it out and Merry Christmas of DOOM.🥶

@Tiffany Joyner Word. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been revisiting this for Christmas for the last 7 years I think. Have you listened to DOOM before? He's a lot lighter than a lot of Hip-Hop. He still has a lot of depth in there, but with jokes and comic books. And his beats and samples are next level even tho this particular playlist put his lyrics over different beats. The Grinch one is crazy.

@Tiffany Joyner I think DOOM is kind of on his own level. He came out the gate with something like 5 straight classic records and did most of his own production which is rare, and nobody listens to a cappella, lol. He originally dropped in that same place and era. Late 80s with 3rd Bass before he dropped off the radar when his brother died and came back with the DOOM persona. One of his dopest songs is with De La Soul off their album The Grind Date. I'd probably put De La at the top of that list. Tribe is dope too. I used to like Common a lot back in the day. BE will always be a true classic. I'd add KRS, Wu, and Gangstarr and that's about everything, lol. Nas, Pac, BIG. And there are some other underground classics from those early 2000s. Cannibal Ox, Felt, Jedi Mind Tricks, Cunninlynguists. Deltron 3030 is like a Sci-Fi movie or book in record form. Narrated by the guy from Gorillas before Gorillas. A must listen imo. I grew up as a big fan of Hip-Hop and I've been writing rhymes since I was in elementary, lol.
90% of the Game is Half Mental...🤯
From external, to internal, to external. Similar to the way people talk about “mind” and “body”, As separate things, You may also hear people refer to “external” vs. “internal” arts. But there is only one whole. The mind is part of the body, And the body is connected to the mind. There is no external without internal, And there is no internal without external. Too much focus on one or the other, Or worse, Disregarding one or the other, Creates imbalances. Tai Chi is all about balance. Harmony. One whole working together. One part moves, all parts move. As above, so below. Different people have different goals, And different training may be more or less ideal, Based on those goals. What are your goals? For me, it is to be the best version of myself. To have the energy to do whatever it is I want to do. The physical ability to walk, run, jump, or whatever else. The stamina and endurance. To have good health, because health is wealth. To maintain balance physically, mentally, and emotionally. To be able to handle whatever life throws my way. Resilience. Adapt and overcome. Take things as they are, Instead of as my perception dictates them to me. Are the limitations really there? Or just self-limiting beliefs? You are either growing... Or you are withering away. Becoming or Being. Or b!tching or bullish!tting. We are capable of so much more... Than the labels we’ve been boxed in to. When you break through your glass ceilings, Suddenly what was once the ceiling, Now becomes the floor, And a whole new room of possibilities opens up. Level up!

@Lisa Black Everything is connected but we live in a constant state of disconnect. So similar to the "mind-muscle connection", not everyone is tapping in. The "external" schools aren't tapping in to the internal and the "internal" schools aren't tapping in to the external. The "mental health" people aren't tapping in to the physical and the "physical fitness" people aren't tapping in to the mental.

@Lisa Black That's where Tai Chi comes in!😎 It has all of the above. Instead of constantly bouncing from one extreme to the other, it's about maintaining balance. Mental, physical, and emotional.🙏
