GOD CAME NEAR
John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us" There are moments in life when God can feel distant. When pain is loud, prayers seem unanswered, and circumstances don’t make sense. This verse reminds us of something profound. God didn’t stay far away. He came near. In Jesus Christ, God stepped into human history, not as an observer, but as a participant. He felt hunger, grief, rejection, and suffering and temptation. He understands what it means to be human. This means you are never alone in what you face. When the verse says He was “full of grace and truth,” it reveals the heart of God toward you. Grace meets you in your weakness without condemnation. Truth leads you toward healing and freedom. Today, whatever you’re carrying, remember this: God is not distant from your struggle. He is present in it.

Take every thought captive to be obedient to Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 10:5 This verse helps me move past intrusive thoughts. Thought life is very difficult for me after having children but this scripture has gotten me through depression and scary times.
No Condemnation
One of the heaviest burdens people bring into counseling isn’t anxiety. It’s condemnation. “I should be better by now.” “I’ve messed up too many times.” “If people really knew my past…” Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Through faith in Christ, God doesn’t gradually accept us based on performance. He declares us righteous because of Christ. That truth changes everything in counseling. When identity is tied to performance, people hide their struggles. When identity is grounded in grace, people can finally be honest. Justification separates two things we often confuse: Who you are vs. What you struggle with Your struggle may be real. Your identity in Christ is still secure. And that security doesn’t produce complacency. It produces freedom to grow. Because real change happens when people stop trying to earn the acceptance that Christ has already secured.
