Our family has known this for years. This is a good way to remember and help your kids know what to look for in the store. One time my son found a labeled piece of produce that was in the organic section but didnโt have the 9 digits. He pointed that out right away so we knew to avoid. If you can support a local farm or farmer that uses safe practices like no pesticides or GMOs that is even better option and you wonโt have to look at a label. On the same note, I always ask at the sellers at a farners market about the origin of the produce. Sometimes it can come from CA or somewhere that is not local. Often sprayed or they will say they donโt know. In those cases I would avoid. We try to go to farms and stands where we know their practices. ๐๐
