Hi everyone
I’m really excited to be part of this community. I have meditated daily for the last 4 months, and I have found it a perfect complement to the group and individual therapies I do every week—the book Already Free delves into the harmony between psychotherapy and non-dualist Buddhism. Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Thanks Brandon—my main takeaway is that, while they come at it from different and sometimes conflicting perspectives, both western psychology and eastern meditative practices help us separate our true selves (consciousness, etc.) from our thoughts.
🧘‍♂️ Meditated on Tilopa’s Six Nails Today for 30 Min
This morning I sat for 30 minutes with Tilopa’s Six Nails — one of the most powerful and simple Mahamudra teachings: 1️⃣ Don’t recall – let go of the past 2️⃣ Don’t imagine – no need to plan or fantasize 3️⃣ Don’t think – release even the present chatter 4️⃣ Don’t examine – stop analyzing 5️⃣ Don’t control – allow experience to unfold naturally 6️⃣ Rest – simply be, aware and open 30 minutes of dropping each nail in, one by one, felt like peeling away everything unnecessary until there was just space and awareness. ✨ Curious: - Which of these six is easiest for you? - Which is the hardest? - How do you “rest” in your own practice? Would love to hear what comes up for you.

I think getting lost in thought is always going to be there—I use Sam Harris’s Waking Up App everyday—but it’s more about recognizing those thoughts to be identical to what you might hear or see outside of yourself—they are just appearances in consciousness. In the moment, it’s often really hard to recognize that however!
