Creating Awareness for Clearing
I am new and just started The Somatic ARC Framework-part 1. I chose to reflect on the question, If awareness is a doorway to more freedom, what’s one small way I can step through it today? I am working on being more aware of my words, actions and triggers. I took time to myself to reflect on a recent moment when I was pushed over the edge by my children (arguing amongst themselves) I calmly asked them to stop multiple time all the while noticing my stress levels rise. Somewhere along the way I was now being argued with, now causing my levels to rise higher and quicker. At this point I’m not only attempting to get them to stop but also informing them I need a me moment to clam down…I eventually loose it meaning I’m no longer calm I’m Anger from the kids movie Inside Out! A can’t seem to calm my voice I can only yell…they did at this point stop arguing but at what cost. I’m still stressed about the whole situation. I did finally get 10 minutes to myself and I calmed down. Now, reflecting on the situation I realize that arguments in general is a trigger from my past and I’m not sure how to properly respond to it. So, I see myself responding in the same way my mother did(still does) when I was a child. Therefore, this is a learned response, now realizing I was never taught the proper response. So, how do I forget and relearn the correct way to deal with arguments?
